“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14 KJV).
If you had the opportunity to set goals, what goals would you set for your life? Would you set spiritual goals? One things that stood out for the apostle Paul was that he was a goal oriented person. Paul knew what he wanted to pursue before he embarked upon any thing. In Philippians 3:10, he clearly state what he wanted to pursue. He main ambition was to know Christ, his resurrection power, and the fellowship of his suffering.
A goal is a purpose or direction to which we work. This concept is fairly easy when we talking about accomplishing a reading assignment. It is different when we talk about knowing Christ. To know Christ, we have to read our bible constantly and pray. It is necessary to have spiritual goals.
If today you feel your faith lacks vitality, perhaps you have lost sight of your goals. Unless you put some steps into place, you will miss out on knowing Christ intimately.
